Ms. Carla Bruce, an original owner and visionary of Binghamton's Lost Dog Cafe, met Sammie and Jules in 1997, when they danced on the 3rd floor above the cafe, with Sammie owning Creative Dance Elements at age 18. Since then, Ms. Bruce has been one of the Werkheiser Family's greatest supporters not only in the arts, but more importantly, in both life and friendship. Thank you Carla!

We Love Our Community.
Our Community Is All Of US. . .

What we wanted as a group of friends and artists, was a place where everyone who stepped foot in the door would know that they were accepted for exactly who they are.

We could come and be ourselves. We would never have to worry if we were thin enough, pretty enough, young enough, smart enough, cool enough, or had enough money.

Absolutely no one is turned away due to financial circumstance.

Everyone can come due to the kindness of others.

A place where we are loved, being just as we are.

A place for arts.

A place for healing.

A place to get healthy.

A place to do what we want to do and not have to fit in to somebody else's idea of who we are supposed to be.

This place is for you, me, and all of us.

We hope you love it too.

You matter.

You also belong, so come as you are!
